And so the NBA Finals are set..

The Dallas Mavericks surprised me and a bunch of other people tonight by overcoming a 18 point deficit to defeat the Phoenix Suns, 102-93. Dallas is set to meet the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals starting Thursday, June 8th. I expect Miami to win the series 4-2 easily. Why? Shaq. Unfortunately, I don’t believe the Dallas Mavericks are equipped to slow down the big man. I’m not taking anything from the Mavericks because I believe Dirk Nowitzki is a freak of nature (in a good way), but you saw what Shaq did to Detroit (or maybe you didn’t). Either way, I’ll be watching the series and cheering for the Miami Heat (naturally since I’m a Floridian).
Now if only the Orlando Magic can get their act together. Sigh.
